2022 Camp Dates TBA!

LOCATION: MEADOWCREEK PARK

MeadowCreek Park is a USEA approved eventing facility located about 45 miles east of Waco in Kosse, Texas.  The facility boasts more than 100 acres of cross-country obstacles including water, ditches, banks, woods, etc and features obstacles designed for beginner riders (green as grass,) to advanced riders (preliminary.) There are also fields in which to gallop, dressage arenas, and stadium jumps.

WHO:

Our overnight camp is by invitation only. The minimum age for camp is age 9.  Lower-level riders must be able to jump small cross-country fences such as logs up to 2' and be able to canter out in the open (outside of an arena.)

IMPORTANT!  Parents: Please expect to drive your child and all of your child's gear to camp and be prepared to pick your child up after camp.  CCT will be unable to haul campers to and from the camp facility.

COST:

The cost of camp is  $625 per rider This fee includes accommodations for both horse and rider, meals, snacks, facility fees, stall fees, and all riding instruction and lecture fees.  It does not include hay, feed, and shavings.  A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a rider’s spot at camp.  Please note we have been doing our overnight camp for 18 years, and our camp has filled every year but one, and it is first come, first served. Riders must give us a deposit to hold a camp spot. Cancellation requests will only be considered for non-horse owners/leasors  who ride at CCT and are unable to secure a horse for camp.  Except in this situation, your camp deposit is non-refundable.

CAMP PAYMENTS:

Camp deposits and balance payments may be paid by PayPal or Venmo.

WHAT:

Our camp format is as follows. On day one, after campers have unpacked and settled their horses, riders will take an hour-long trail ride in order to familiarize themselves with the facility.  On day two, riders will participate in a two-hour cross-country jumping lesson, followed by an educational lecture after lunch.  On day three, riders will participate in a 45 minute semi-private dressage lesson, followed by an educational lecture after dinner.  On day four, riders will participate in another two-hour cross-country jumping lesson. After lunch on day four, riders will take a final trail ride before packing up.  Camp will also include other activities such as a scavenger hunt on horseback.  Riders will be grouped by riding experience, not age.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Horses will stay in 10 X 10 stalls on the grounds below the bunkhouse.  The bunkhouse sleeps 12-15 riders, and it is located above the barn.  It includes two bedrooms, air conditioning, two showers, and plenty of real beds, not cots.  Due to space constraints, 2-3 riders usually wind up sleeping in sleeping bags or air mattresses on the floor.  Unless a rider volunteers to sleep in a sleeping bag, we usually give the cots/beds away to the first 10 to 12 riders that give us their deposit. Parents who wish to be at camp to watch must pay a $50 fee to cover the costs of their food while at camp, and these parents will be required to help with cooking and chores. Parents are responsible for their own camp accommodations, and accommodations will not be provided by CCT.

SAFETY:

In order to jump cross-country, all riders are required to wear a cross-country safety vest, (body protector,) helmet, medical arm band, and riding boots. A Hit-Air or Point-Two air vest is also strongly recommended for those jumping at or above novice level. As was the case last year, we will not allow any flip-flops or open-toed shoes at camp, even if they are being worn by parents.  Unless the flip-flops are exclusively to be used in the showers, please leave your sandals and flip-flops at home!  There will be no exceptions to these rules. Again, please leave the flip-flops and sandals at home!

HAULING:

Hauling to camp is not guaranteed. Campers not riding CCT-owed horses must find their own transportation to camp. The standard CCT trailering fee to MeadowCreek Park is $75 per horse. Although every effort will be made to ensure all riders make it to camp, we cannot guarantee transportation for horse and rider.
